Privacy policy
The short version
- To join the founding list we ask for your email, and two optional answers: what brings you here, and whether you use iPhone or Android.
- We use it to give you a founding number, track invites, and send you at most two emails: when doors open, and when your 2027 story is ready.
- We don’t sell your information, don’t share it for advertising, and don’t use it to train AI.
- This website uses no tracking cookies, analytics or ads.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time: hello@somedayy.app.
Who we are
somedayy (“we”, “us”) runs the website at somedayy.app and is operated by its two co-founders, Krish Kahnani and Areeb Hayat, as individuals, based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. They decide how your information is used (the “data fiduciary” under Indian law, and the “controller” under EU and UK law). For anything about your privacy, email hello@somedayy.app.
This policy covers the website and its founding list (our waitlist). The somedayy app is not available yet. It will have its own privacy policy, which we will publish before the app launches and link from the App Store and Google Play.
What we collect
What you give us
| Information | Required? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Yes | To hold your place on the founding list and email you about launch. |
| What brings you here (for example “i gave up on journaling”) | No, pre-selected and changeable | To understand what people want from somedayy. |
| Your phone (iPhone or Android) | No, pre-selected and changeable | To know which app to prioritize and which store link to send you. |
What we record when you join
- The date and time you joined, which sets your founding number.
- The invite code of the person who shared the link with you, if you arrived through one.
- The campaign tag in the link you followed, if it had one (for example, that you came from Instagram).
- Which version of this page you joined from, so we can see which one works best overall.
- An invite code we create for you, so we can see which friends joined through your link.
We do not ask for your name, phone number, location, payment details or anything about your health. Please don’t send us sensitive information by email.
What stays on your device
Your browser’s own storage keeps your founding number and invite code (so the page remembers you joined), and the invite or campaign code for the length of your visit. This information stays in your browser; you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
Services that help us run the website
These providers process information only to provide their service to us:
- Google (Google Sheets and Apps Script) stores the founding list.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts on this page. Your browser requests them directly from Google, which receives your IP address under Google’s own privacy policy.
- Vercel hosts this website and keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability.
- An email delivery service will send the launch emails. We will name it here before we send the first one.
The voice you hear on this page is an AI-generated narrator reading sample lines. Nothing you type on this page is sent to an AI service.
How we use your information
- To add you to the founding list, give you your number and keep it for good.
- To record which friends joined through your invite link.
- To send you at most two emails: when doors open, and when your 2027 story is ready. Every email has a one-tap unsubscribe link.
- To understand, in total, which page version and which links bring people in.
- To keep the list free of spam and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We don’t show ads or use advertising or analytics trackers on this website.
- We don’t use your information to train AI models.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of somedayy and its users, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information we hold.
How long we keep it
We keep founding-list information until 12 months after the app’s public launch, so we can honor founding numbers and offers. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you. If you ask us to delete your information, we delete it within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep a record.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe using the link in any email.
- See, correct or delete your information by emailing hello@somedayy.app from the address you signed up with. We reply within 45 days.
California and other US states
If you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon or another state with a consumer privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access it, correct it and delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don’t sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of. You can use an authorized agent, and we won’t treat you differently for using your rights. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.
In the last 12 months we have collected these categories, as described above: identifiers (email address, invite code) and internet activity (the page version and link you came from). We collected them from you and your browser, for the purposes above, and disclosed them only to the service providers listed.
India
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process your information because you consent to it when you join the list. You can withdraw that consent at any time, as easily as you gave it: unsubscribe, or email us to be removed. After that we stop using your information and delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it. Withdrawing doesn’t affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew. You also have the right to a summary of the information we hold about you and who we’ve shared it with, to correct, complete, update or erase it, and to nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to.
Grievances: contact Krish Kahnani (co-founder) at hello@somedayy.app. We will reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with how we handle your grievance, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
European Economic Area and United Kingdom
If you are in the EEA or the UK, we rely on your consent to process your information, and you can withdraw it at any time. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your information, to object to how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because our providers may store information outside your country, we rely on their standard safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Do Not Track: we don’t track you across other websites, so our website works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
Children
somedayy is meant for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has joined the list, email hello@somedayy.app and we will delete it.
Security
The website uses HTTPS, and access to the founding list is limited to the people who run somedayy. No service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect what you share.
Where your information is stored
We are based in India. Our providers may store information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we’ll also email you before it takes effect.
